Claire “CJ” Stanton is a multi-talented human being who has jumped into the world of filmmaking. With an ongoing journey in filmmaking, CJ brings a unique perspective to their work, challenging societal norms and encouraging introspection through their diverse and thought-provoking films.
Raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, CJ went on a transformative journey of self-discovery. As a Chinese American adoptee, they’ve navigated the complexities of identity and culture, ultimately finding solace and inspiration in the realm of filmmaking. Inspired by watching films and making YouTube videos, they decided to go to college at Columbia College Chicago where they graduated with a Bachelor’s in Cinema Art and Science.
Currently based in Los Angeles, CJ continues to push boundaries and pursue creative endeavors. They’ve directed multiple short films, music videos, and hopes to write & direct a feature film in the future. As a filmmaker, they hope to embrace diversity, foster empathy, and ultimately entertain audiences to think about who we are as human beings.
